Sales Development Representative
Keep reading if you've ever had a love/hate relationship with a multi-tabbed spreadsheet.
As an early member of our team, your hands will be in both tactical and strategic sides of the Sales Development function & sales organization. From researching potential clients and launching outbound campaigns to managing our inbound channel and connecting & educating prospects – you’ll drive the beginning of sales relationships that will also drive our business.
Who we are
StarLifter is on a mission to simplify and streamline data analysis for every scenario. Our platform replaces the patchwork of solutions operators are using to get the insight they need to run their business. This includes (1) business intelligence tools and their required data analysis stacks, (2) purpose-built point solutions (think FP&A reporting, KPI software, customer QBR reporting), and (3) the dreaded spreadsheet supported by a team member.
In short, we are the answer to the "there has to be another way" heard from most office suites and operations floors.
Founded in early 2022, we are based in Indianapolis with an office in San Diego. We believe our bold vision may only be realized by attracting and retaining the right talent.
As an SDR on our team, your day to day work will revolve around reaching out & qualifying leads at the initial stage of the sales funnel and booking appointments for our team. The business will look to you as a strategic partner to the revenue team. You’ll be a pro at communicating feedback internally, with focus on the voice of our customer and where we should place our bets.

It'd be great if
As we build our team, we are looking for a variety of talents, perspectives, and experiences. It’d be great if your career has led you to acquire a handful of the following:
You’ve felt the pain of the super user. This may mean you've built a multi-tabbed Excel workbook, been asked a 15 second question that requires a four hour analysis, or downloaded and attempted to build something in BI.
You’ve been a team lead or singular SDR. This means you’ve mastered (or close to) the role and people have noticed. You know how to take a new campaign idea and put it into motion. You hold yourself and others accountable. “Making just one more call” is natural for you, and you are all about pipeline that equates to revenue.
You’ve sold a thing or two. We don’t care how long or how much. Familiarity with the sales process drives how you guide prospects, lead with curiosity, and provide an excellent experience
You’re somewhat technical. This could mean you can write a formula in Excel, understand various data integration approaches, and are familiar with database design.
Experimentation is your jam. And you’re really good at communicating what’s working, and what isn’t.
You come with a perspective on how organization’s use data.
How we define success
Roles with variety require focus. Here’s how we’ll determine what success looks like for this role:
Your conversion rates are better or in line with our benchmarks
You work a prospecting plan, document and make it better
Prospects are excited to show up & understand our value. And some become customers
